My First Entry-For Cute!

Since all of my sisters have blogs, I feel left out. Even though my two older sisters have cute kids to talk about, and my sister that's just above me is on an adventure in New York City, I think I have a few crazy things to write about in good 'ol SLC. Plus, I need to start journaling for many other reasons than just to fit in with my sisters.
So first, I will explain the title of my blog. I thought for a very long time about what I could call it, and it may still even change if you have any suggestions, but I wanted to use my nickname. My oldest sister, Sarah, used to called me 'hoven' which is short for Beethoven because my hair always stuck out after naps, and well, really all the time when I was little. It looked like Beethoven's crazy hair. So I chose Hoven's Symphony because my life is like my private symphony. Each day or separate events during the day has a different melody playing in my head, and sometimes I think it'd be cool if my life was constantly put to music that represented my moods, much like a movie. However, Randi (my fabulous roomie) really wanted me to use my 'Bacon' nickname in some way, but after a lot of giggling about possible names, I just decided that I will leave that nickname to be used by my family.
Also, I'd like to say right now that my blogger will have many grammatical errors in it because a) I don't care and b) I'm a science major and hate writing papers about anything! So Allison, you may literally be cringing when you read. And I know Sarah and Laura just cringed at my use of 'literally'.
So what do my days consist of right now? Well, I work 16 hours a week (I switched from 20 hrs per week because 12 hours shifts were wiping me out), I am Head of Recruitment for my sorority, I am taking 17 credit hours, Randi and I have become obsessed with the Firm Vol. 1 with Susan Harris and do it about every day (only for the past week and a half though), and I have an awesome boyfriend of 2 years that I don't get to see that often (like twice a week for a couple hours?) because of all of the activities I mentioned above. Lucky for me, Recruitment or 'Rush Week' as it is commonly known, just ended yesterday with our Bid Day party and it was very successful. Even though my house is one of the smaller houses in numbers, we got the biggest spring pledge class so that's exciting! It just takes so much work to be in this position. I have to hold workshops about how to have a conversation, what topics are taboo, what your body language is saying, etc. Then I have to decorate the room, make the food, and create a system where everyone can meet a girl who is visiting the sorority, but you can't have more than two of our girls (Alpha Chi Omega girls) talking to the visitor (potential members) at one time because it is called 'hotboxing.' There are many rules about how recruiting is done, and it gets very hard to manage the whole event. Anyways, at least it is over and I can focus on school work again.
Well that is my first entry. And on Sunday is my 2 year anniversary with Ryan so I am very excited. Apparently he's getting me something pretty nice, but I'm not sure what yet. And we'll be going out to dinner and to see "Definitely, Maybe" and possibly go ice skating as well. Yay!
