It's Allison's birthday today! I have been studying for finals all day and haven't had a good time for both of us to call her, I want her to know I am thinking of her!! It is now 10:30 PM her time, which doesn't mean she's asleep because she never sleeps, but I think a dedicated blog post will have to suffice until I call her tomorrow.
Oh Allison...the sister I grew up with that I was pretty scared of for many years is now one of my best friends. People are jealous when they ask me who my best friends are, and I reply, "My 3 sisters, my Mom, Ashley and Krissy." And it is the truth. My best summer was when I went home from college and she and her husband Dave and my mini me, Emaline, lived with my parents. Allison and I were on a very consistent walking routine where we would discuss life ambitions, health & fitness, boys (okay so that was just me rattling on about that), and many other topics. That was the summer that I decided to go into nursing, and Allison was a huge factor and motivation to go for it. At that time, I really did not have very much confidence in my intelligence, but Allison would tell me stories about nurses she knew and how I could do it if I tried. When I wrote my paper for my nursing application during winter break, Allison spent hours re-reading it and giving me advice on what I could do better. I vividly remember seeing her in the dining room correcting it, while many others (including me, yikes!) were kicking back and watching TV. I couldn't believe she really cared that much!! Allison was one of the first people I called when I got in, and I know I wouldn't have gotten in without her dedication.
I worked a very boring job that summer, and the highlight of the week is when I would come home on Friday afternoon to hang out with her and eat Taco Bell and Coldstone. We also had a shared obsession with Strawberry Diet Pepsi Jazz and So you think you can dance? The other perk was getting to play with the most entertaining little girl she made. Chasing around Emaline, getting her to squeal louder, and playing toys with her is definitely an activity that I miss being able to do very often.
Allison is just one of those people that you know you can talk to about anything, and at the end of a conversation, you just feel happier. I wish I could spend this day with her, but hopefully, in the near future, we will live close enough to celebrate together! Happy Birthday Bestie! (haha oh ya I just called you my bestie!)

Hahaha that is the best picture ever.
I love this picture so much it hurts. Was that when we went to the Elephant Bar?
It's a good thing your post was really sweet and made me cry, otherwise I'd do something really not nice as a return for that picture. Actually, I think I have one in mind...
But thanks poops. I really liked that (the post). When was that picture taken? I assume it was Elephant Bar, but when?
