Emaline has started singing 'We got the BOCK! We got the BOCK!" It kind of sounds like "We got the beat" by Gloria Estefan, but every time I try to sing that version she says 'no no no! We got the BOCK!!!" I have yet to find out what 'the bock' is exactly, but one night as she was blessing the food (which Allison graciously allows her to say it every night) she said "Thank you for the food and thank you for the bock and thank you for the bock and thank you for the bock..." You get the point, and Allison had to interrupt her to get her back on track. Maybe this kid knows something we don't, but perhaps I should be thankful for the bock now, too.
I am also liking the reward system we got going at this house. Every time you go pee or make a floppy (go #2), you get an "E" treat. It is actually an M&M, but I guess flipped on it's side it is an E for Emaline. I highly recommend getting the limited time Mint Crisp M&M's that are at Target. I can't keep my hands off of them!
In Sacrament meeting, Emaline is very entertaining as well. She had her MagnaDoodle out and I asked her if I could use it to draw her name. She patiently replied, "You can when it is your turn." Oh, okay...I suppose that is fair. Ten seconds later, she hands it to me and says "Okay NOW it is your turn." Goodie! Shortly after I start doodling, I look over and she is saying out loud "I grabbing Mommy's stuff!" as she is squeezing Allison's chest, during Sacrament meeting. Before she went to bed tonight, she started grabbing Mommy's stuff and Becca's stuff...what are we teaching her??
And I know I am only adjusting to East coast time which is two hours ahead, but REALLY, it's like making an adjustment to Europe time because normally I go to bed around 1-2 AM (since I get off work at 11:30 PM and can't go to sleep right away because I am so worked up) and get up at 11:30 AM. Hey, I need sleep...10 hours is good for me. Well HERE I have to get up 5 AM my time so that is pretty much a 7 hour time difference. I pat myself on the back. I have been taking a half dose of Tylenol PM and then a quarter dose. Then I decided that was too strong so now I get Children's Benadryl to help me to sleep now. Kids are so lucky they get to drink that stuff, why don't they make adult medicine taste that good??
While we are on the subject of Emaline, I just need to reminisce about one of my favorite memories of her that occurred two Christmas' ago. Christmas morning, Emaline and I were having one of usual screaming contests. After each successively louder scream, Emaline would laugh hysterically. Well, things got out of hand and she laughed so hard after one of my screams that she vomited while laughing. Words can't do it justice just how funny it was, but Emaline just had the look of shock on her face, but once I started laughing again she thought it was just as funny as anything else.
(This is before the vomiting)And also Happy Father's Day to my Dad...and Allison and I win because we called Dad first.
Top 10 Reasons why my Dad is the best:
1. He puts family first before everything.
2. He can fix any problem you have...which is probably why I am having such a hard time on my own this summer because I don't have the stability of my father...and we all know how stable I am. yikes..
3. Whenever I cry about something, he always ends our conversation about it by making me laugh.
4. He's the one who started my addiction to quality popcorn.
5. He allows people to embrace their flatulence and other bodily functions, and also share it with others around you about the specifics...especially at the dinner table.
6. He is always my Trivial Pursuit partner and we win all the time!
7. He would sit at the kitchen table with me for hours helping me with math/history/science homework that I would cry over because I would be so frustrated.
8. He not only got me excited about going to the U (which I swore I would NEVER go to), he became a member of their sports board, became friends with Ute fans, got criticized and practically disowned by the Cougarboard for doing so(except not really because they worship him), and was at the U Homecoming football game with the rest of the Ute fans happily dressed in red.
9. He has never given up as my dad.
And the 10th reason, and probably the best reason why my dad is the best is that he is my hero. Sometimes I like to think of him as a superhero who will always be able to rescue me. I guess I still feel like I'm 5 years old. I love you Dad!

Actually, I win because I'm the only person that gave him a present today. Mwhahaha.
Becca,
Love your blog. The comment about "grabbing your stuff" is hilarious only because I have a 4 year old who still has affection for "my stuff." She tells me everyday, she loves them. Yes, very interesting... BTW, Did you know in Japan they sell "plastic" replicas for children? Wei-rd! HAHAHAHAHA....
