Becca! To the rescue!

This week has been so busy. It's been recruitment week (or rush week as it used to be called) for all of the U Greeks, and I have been involved in it everyday. The last day of recruitment week is called Preference Night, which is where the girls have to narrow it down to two houses and it is a more serious setting with dinner and dessert. After dinner, we took all of the girls into a circle and told each one why we had chosen them to be here tonight and why we would want them in our house.

It took a pretty long time to do all of this, and I was getting antsy. I kept moving my legs around because as everyone SHOULD know, if you lock your knees when you are standing you will pass out. We started singing after everyone had a turn to talk and I kept looking at this one girl named Whitney (she's a rushee) and she just looked off. Then I saw what I feared...her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she stumbled around like a drunk man and eventually hit her head on the wall and was down. I had already blown out the candle I was holding and ran across the room to her just in time to ease her to the ground. Everyone was screaming, but I just kept assuring everyone she had fainted and she'd be fine. The girl kept trying to get up in her stupor, so I had to hold her down for a bit and turn her head to the side so she didn't choke on her tongue. I sat next to her for awhile, and eventually I helped her back up. I didn't really do anything, but everyone applauded me the rest of the night and people kept saying "I was so glad to have you here...I knew everything would be okay because you were here. I don't know what would've happened without you." Everyone was being a tad overdramatic, but it felt so good to have people actually think I did something cool. Of course I don't want anyone to go unconscious, but I do have a small fantasy that I will be in a public place and someone will need CPR and I will save the day. Kind of like a modern day hero. One day...

And then after she regained her senses did you whisper, "Yeah, remember all that nice stuff we said about you? Yeah, we'd like to take it back. You can go to your second pick now. Okbye."
