Good day at the gym

I am really enjoying getting into fitness. It's been almost a month since I committed to working out, and I have worked out at least 6 times a week since then. I love sore muscles and seeing what more my body can handle.
Yesterday, I worked out with one of my friends who is 6'7 and looks like he's on steroids...but he's not...at least I don't think so. Anyway, he (Ryan, not the one I've talked about before though) loves training people and offered to train me, and of course I agreed because a) it's fun working out with people b) it's fun working out with good looking guys and c) it fun having someone to tell me what to do and spot me. I felt pretty prepared since the previous week I had worked out with that other guy and did really well with his routine. Ryan started me out with bench presses. I grab 12 lbs dumbbells. "Those are too easy for you. Take these." He throws me the 30 lbs dumbbells. Ummm...you are joking. I can't do that. "Yes you can. Just do it." To my extreme surprise I was able to! He grabs 110 lbs dumbbells. He is ridiculous. But I felt pretty cool being at the gym with someone that intense because it looks like I'm pro too.

We did pecs and lower body and I could not believe how much he pushed me. A few times I thought I was going to pass out. We went to the leg press machine. Feeling pretty strong, I put on 90 lbs. He put on 30 more pounds. And then another 30. And another. Ladies and gentlemen, I did 225 lbs on the leg press on my last set with 10 reps. I did the decline bench press with 70 lbs. I did the seated calf raise machine with like 90 lbs or something with 30 reps each time. Unstoppable. I actually did complain quite a bit during this gym day but can you blame me? It is really scary trying to lift weight and you just don't know if your body will do it. But Ryan was so supportive and positive. "It's a mind game. Everyone is stronger than they even know, just few people extend themselves to their maximum potential and see what they can really do." This is so true in every aspect of your life.

I am very sore today and will be taking it off, but I had to put this out there because I am very satisfied with myself. =)
