"The voices told me to do it!"

Whew...life has been ridiculous lately...I don't even know where to begin. Well, first off, I'm retarded and have been using the wrong checkbook so now I have bounced checks that I have to take care of. One of them was to Costco...which I feel so bad about because I love Costco (except their paying policy obviously!) and so now I have to go in today and fix that.
I have been working a crazy amount...I think 60 hours in the last week! My paycheck will be nice...but one thing I have figured out about myself is that I am not a workaholic. I'm just not one of those people...and I'm fine with it. Many of my other co-workers work everday for like weeks at a time, pulling 16 hour shifts...but I am just too social and too lazy to do that. I've accepted it.
But on Monday, I worked until 8 that morning and came back into work at 3 that afternoon. I had been in the 1:1 room all night, and they stuck me in it again at 3 because they figured I was tired. For those who don't know, a 1:1 is where a CNA sits in a room with a patient because they are high risk. This person was a suicide risk because he jumped off the library building because 'the voices in his head told him to' and he is a schizophrenic homeless guy who I have actually come to really like, mainly because he is so entertaining because he is nuts, and also because I feel so bad for how his life turned out. He LOVES me and we have a good time playing air-piano together..haha. Anyways, I come into the room and the other patient that had just arrived is unresponsive and we call a code as soon as I walk in. Crap. I am so unprepared for this. He is breathing, but his oxygen saturation was at 70%, his lips were turning blue, and his blood pressure was dropping. I start the sternal rub, pinching his fingers, putting a cold wash cloth on his face...and still he was unresponsive. The nurse is running around trying to get the trauma team in...and HOT DOCTOR COMES IN! Oh goody, I'm thinking, my chance to show him that I can do something! Pretty much I get shoved out of the way and get to hold the elevator for them to take him to the ICU. Oh well...but about Hot Doctor...man is he hot. I see him all the time now, but no worries, he has a ring on his finger so whoever his wife is...she is one lucky bandit. But he does walk around with this PA student who looks like Meredith Grey (from Grey's Anatomy) and he does have the eyes of McDreamy...it's a bit odd.
Back to being with crazy schizophrenic guy...I was with him on Monday afternoon and he slept through the entire finale of the Bachelor which was AWESOME!! I knew he'd end up with Shayne...and I think it's a better choice than Chelsea because she just can't love someone that much...she's kind of cold on the inside. Anyways, this guy is awesome because he lets me watch TV while he sleeps and then when he wakes up we watch things like House, How to Lose a guy in 10 Days, or the Simpsons. After watching How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, we discussed the 'real world' and how relationships don't just magically happen like that. For a second, I thought this guy was actually a normal, lonely guy. Then 2 minutes later, he yells "Becca!!! Did you know there are humans around us and all over the planet?! How are we going to escape them! Let's fly out the window!" Okay buddy...let's not, because that's how you ended up with your two broken legs.
More to post later...but now I have to head to Costco to figure out this crap. Ugh!

So you're pulling down overtime money to watch House, Simpsons, etc. all day? Nice gig, but I'm not sure that offsets the fun of Easter Egg hunts, catheters and ostomy bag replacements.

Hahaha you had me at "air piano."

Also, I kind of decided that I loved Shayne after she pulled all that makeup out of her jacket when they went snowboarding. And Chelsea is the one who seemed really fake! Anyway, even though Shayne is a total ditz and talks in a baby voice sometimes, I think she is funny ("If I don't come back, I wish you and Chelsea well...")and kind of amusing in general. It will never last, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

SYTYCD NEXT WEEK!
