Gatorade and Ginger Ale

So I hate food. This is the one time in my entire life that I completely mean that. You see, my health has been in relatively good condition over the last month or two and it's been awesome. However, yesterday I was very stressed and studying for my Pathophysiology test that is today and I didn't really feel like eating much. I bought sushi at the grocery store and took it to the library which is the best form of sushi, but it's still sushi. I felt fine. I went home around dinner time and went to my sorority Monday night meeting, and then went to the gym to relieve some stress and ran 4 miles non-stop. (I have to start running again because I've done the Firm Vol.1 like 17 times now and I think I need to switch up my routine. When I got home, I had toast and broccoli. A half an hour later, and I feel like crap. But it's not until 3 hours later that I realize this is food poisoning and it's in full swing. I'm throwing up and excreting broccoli at the same time and have to do so every hour until 10 AM this morning. I realize I am physically not able to take my test unless I keep a bowl next to me, and luckily my professor was really understanding (I mean she is a nurse practitioner) and I get to take it tomorrow. So for today, I am bedridden, but I have made a record of 2 hours for not throwing up! And I've lost 6 pounds between yesterday and today. Me and my friends always joked when we ate something that could be outdated that if it was, at least we'd get food poisoning and lose weight. Well now I am put in my place and I will never wish that upon myself again!! And if that is what morning sickness is like, count me out! I forgot how bad being sick to your stomach is. So as we speak, Ryan is getting me Gatorade and Ginger Ale so hopefully I'll keep that down.
And then also, I saw "The Other Boleyn Girl" last Thursday and it was awesome. Me and Randi went and she knew even less about the history than I did. I definitely need to read the series now! And when we went, we got a large popcorn (even though Randi thought we should get a small or medium) and I informed her that Ostlers don't do smalls or mediums. We got the large and she kept on being surprised by how much I could eat. I always forget how different regular people's quantities of popcorn are, but it was delicious! I believe I will be eating lots more of delicious popcorn when I get to go home on Sunday, I'm so excited I am counting down!
On Sunday, I had to work and it was one of the worst days in a long time. I had 9 patients (when I normally have 6) and it just made me so mad because they called off and floated a bunch of people for no reason. My patients were crazy. This one woman called every three minutes on the dot. And what was she asking for? "Can you take the pillow out from my back?"....3 minutes later..."Okay I want the pillow back there again." back and forth and back and forth. My favorite was "My leg hurts, can you move it around?" In my head I'm like, okay but you're a paraplegic...so you can't feel your leg. Then she spiked a blood pressure of 182/90 and I was like okay fabulous you might code any second. Then this other grown man (40 years old) made me watch him get back into bed for at least 10 minutes. I couldn't help with anything, I just had to watch, and it wasn't even like he was in bad condition. All 9 of them would ask for ridiculous things except for one foreign man, and when I got around to checking his vitals, his temperature was 40.3 degrees Celsius...or around 105 Fahrenheit. Argh...I wish some people realized that it's not a 1:1 ratio of patient:CNA or patient:nurse on this floor. Oh well, my spirits were a little lifted when my friend (who was my successor to Treasurer) got into the U's Pharmacy school on her first try, and it is rated like #1 or #2 in the nation. Hopefully it's a sign for me!

Randi wanted to SHARE a small? I mean, I can see getting a medium for yourself if you're in the mood for, like, a light snack. (Which, okay, I realize that for most people, popcorn IS meant to be a light snack. But I do not understand those people.)

Anyway, that sucks that you're sick. I am still going on about a 9-year streak of no throwing up, so I'll remember not to eat any grocery store sushi in the near future. Good luck on your test!

Glad you're feeling better, Becca. Does this mean no sushi stop for us next week? We have China Chili lined up for Monday night, though, so we'll do Asian of some sort.

And your popcorn trough awaits.
