Recap of My Spring Break

I have had a lot of glorious free time this week at home. It's been entertainment after entertainment, mostly from TV, so let me recap and hopefully you can choose what shows your going to start watching.
Kicked off Monday with Dancing with the Stars and the Bachelor. Okay the Bachelor is ridiculous! He is every girl's dream man. And if you saw that Staci girl, well she made your night. So I hope everyone watches it next Monday and we can talk smack about all the girls.
Tuesday, Mom and I went to an early showing of 'Penelope.' A large bag of popcorn was my breakfast that day. The movie was really cute and had a good lesson at the end, and afterwards we went to In-N-Out for lunch. We then went to Lucky's, Costco, and Safeway (we had to get a lot of food...mainly for me haha jk but I did get a gallon of French silk and finish the tub by tonight!). We bought Enchanted and Harry Potter 5 and watched Enchanted when we got back. CUTEST MOVIE EVER. I think it's my new favorite movie. The music, the dancing, and Amy Adams! If you haven't seen it, get it and it will brighten your day! Later we made chocolate delight for Mom's Relief Society party, and made an extra tray for us! (bad choice but so delicious!)
Wednesday morning I got to catch up with Krissy. She is getting ready to graduate and she can't wait to get out of Berkeley because I guess it's turned into high school and girls aren't being nice to her. =[ But she is sending out applications like crazy and hopefully she figures out where she's going. Also, she just got bangs and looks like the Krissy we all knew in elementary school, only she looks hot..haha. The rest of the day was filled with shopping!! I'm into stilletos now and got some really cute suede red shoes (by Jessica Simpson) for $40! Oh and Laura, I had to get new Chanel Chance, and they have a new one that is green but it's still Chance only with a fresh/young scent to it. I was unsure about it but then Brenda popped up in Macy's and smelled it and told me to go for it. I got it ($90 for the large which really sucked but oh well) and it's awesome! I recommend it!) Later that night I watched "Moment of Truth" which is about people on lie detectors who have to answer really bad questions and expose themselves. Awesome. One of the questions a girl had to answer was "Would you be okay with looking like your mom when your her age?" She responded no, but I can honestly say that if I was on that show I would say yes I'd be more than okay with looking like my Mom, because even though she complains and claims her hairs is too big or she doesn't like the way something looks on her, if there was a way I could guarantee looking like her when I'm older, I'd take the option in a heartbeat. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Thursday we went to Kohl's, which I had never gone to, but they have some cute stuff! I got 2 bags for around $20 each and they each match the 2 new pairs of heels I got. I'm turning into a lady! The rest of the day I spent looking at plane tickets to visit Laura and Allison in May but am trying to work out the details with it. Plane tickets are expensive, at least $500, so I need to choose wisely when to come.
The other thing I have been doing a lot of is looking at bedding/kitchen stuff. I am getting my own place finally in May and need to buy everything for it. I was sort of shocked at first that I would be buying everything myself, but now I feel empowered. It's scary because I don't even know how much to spend on a vacuum, or what kitchen appliances I'll need, or what kind of bedding to get. It's also scary because when I have to buy things I realize that there is an end to my bank account and if I spend too much, I won't eat! All in all, I am so excited and counting down the days til I get my own apartment and will look around and feel satisfied that everything (well mostly) in that place are things that I earned and worked for.
And lastly, tonight we saw "Miss Pettigrew Lives for A Day" which was also really really cute. It was really a fun movie. After that, Mom and I watched an Oprah on poligamy or 'plural families.' Did you know that Warren Jeffs reportedly had 180 wives recently? But some communities are as creepy as those, and a couple families were interviewed and they looked normal. They claimed there was never jealousy and they loved having each other around. I don't know, but I see how it's a bit odd that poligamy is illegal but having a mistress or sleeping around isn't, maybe things should change? Oh well. I go home tomorrow and just want to finish this semester ASAP! But I had a great time here and always love being home. It just reaffirms what I tell all my friend...my family is the awesomest. Mom gives the best advice. You'd think she was a hundred years old with all the advice she has on relationships and life. She doesn't pry, she doesn't immediately take your side if your talking about a relationship, she knows your strengths and weaknesses and can tell you how both can lead to your success if utilized correctly, and best of all she and Dad have been great examples my entire life. Maybe I have been listening to too much Dr. Laura and realize how good my family is, but thanks for an enjoyable, relaxing spring break!

I can't believe you hadn't seen Enchanted! I think my roommate is buying it this week so I'll probably get to watch it again soon. Definitely cute. And when you come visit we can reenact the "That's How You Know" musical number around the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park!
